Getting Started

Welcome to Very Tangy TV Asia and thank you for choosing us. 

Below you will find step-by-step instructions on what to do before you set up your new Internet TV service.  There are also a few pointers on what to do if you experience any problems during set-up.

If having read these instructions, and downloaded the user manual from either the CD or our www.verytangytvasia.com website, you still can’t get your box to connect to the internet, please call our Freephone technical assistance line on 0800 689 9201.

They’ll be more than happy to assist you in problem solving and getting your service working.  Our Tech line is open from 8am until 7pm Monday – Saturday and from 9am until 1pm on Sundays.

So let’s get to work setting up your fantastic new Very Tangy TV Asia Service….
                          
If you have purchased your set-top box in conjunction with a 1yr subscription: 
Your username and password will be included in this box.

If you have not purchased your set-top in conjunction with a 1yr subscription:
You will need to go to www.verytangytvasia.com BEFORE you try to set up your new box and service.

You will then need to do the following:
Register your set-top box and set up your monthly direct debit details.
If you haven’t purchased your box with a 1yr subscription-in-advance package, and you don’t set up your direct debit, your service will not be activated!
Once you’ve set up your monthly payment, you will then be emailed your user name and password.

Once you have your username and password:
Please follow the instructions below to set up your new Very Tangy TV Asia box and service.

Because Very Tangy TV Asia is an ethical company who believes in saving our planets natural resources, this is the only paper you will find inside your box.  As we’re a totally paperless environment, inside the box you will find a CD Rom with your user manual and set-up instructions on it.  Insert the CD into a computer or laptop and download the files. 
Please don’t print these documents unless you really have to.

If for any reason your disk fails to load, please go to the www.verytangytvasia.com website and visit the download section, you’ll find the user and set-up guides in there ready for you to download.

  1. Remove your new box and leads from its packaging.

  2. Locate the remote control and insert the batteries (included)

  3. Locate the Power cable, Scart-to-TV connection cable and the Ethernet cable (unless you purchased LEA Homeplugs with your box, in which case please use the Ethernet cables you will find in the box with your Homeplugs).

  4. Now connect the Power, Scart and Ethernet cables to your set-top box.

  5. Plug the Power lead into the wall socket, the Scart lead into your TV and the Ethernet cable into your internet router (again if you purchased LEA Homeplugs with your box, please plug the Ethernet cable from your box into the one Homeplug and connect to a wall socket.  Then connect the other Ethernet lead between the other Homeplug and your internet router, plug the Homeplug into a power socket).

  6. Once you have connected your Very Tangy TV Asia box to your internet, your TV and a power supply, please turn the box on using the button located at the front left hand corner of your box.  The light will turn from Red to Green to let you know that the unit is now on.

  7. Leave the box for a few minutes, during this time it will be gaining access to your internet and configuring itself to provide you with the best service possible and ensuring it doesn’t take too much of your internet bandwidth. 

  8. After a few minutes the digital display should start flashing with numbers, it will run through 3 or 4 sequences of numbers before displaying a letter and number code, this means that your box is now connected to your internet. 

  9. You’ll then be greeted by a blue screen that requests your username and password.  Please input these details using your remote control.  If your username or password contains the same two letters or numbers straight after one another, please remember to press enter before typing the 2nd of the same letter or number.  Once you have entered these details, follow the instructions on screen.

  10. You’ll then see the welcome screen with further instructions on how to proceed with using your box.
